Kendra Ross
Kendra Ross is an artist and cultural worker in Pittsburgh. She currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Sports, Arts and Entertainment Management at Point Park University where she is completing her doctoral degree in Community Engagement. Kendra’s dissertation research focuses on the role of Black women cultural workers in the Hill District community where she serves as the co-chair of #ArtsInHD, a collective of Hill District creatives. A music industry veteran, Kendra spent 17 years at Universal Music Group where she most recently served as the Director of Label Process Operations. She is also an accomplished songwriter, independent recording artist, session vocalist, and music producer. She has recorded with internationally acclaimed artists, such as Quincy Jones, Talib Kweli, Lauryn Hill, and Kanye West. Kendra has performed at renowned venues including Blue Note Jazz Club (New York), BB King’s Blues (LA & NYC), Arena Theater (Houston) as a headliner and opener for Soul and R&B stars like Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds, Lalah Hathaway, and the late Isaac Hayes.
